Excellent Entry-Level Receiver : Onkyo TX-SR309 5.1 Channel Home Theater Receiver
I was going to purchase another product to match the brand of my Blu-Ray player and Television until I read several reviews for he brand. Basically I read that the brand makes the best TVs however their receivers are of poor quality.
Unusually, several of the reviewers stated that they should have gone with the Onkyo receiver. This prompted me to look into the Onkyo receiver, and I was pleasantly surprised.
I really don't require audiophile quality for listening to DVDs therefore this receiver was perfect for my application.
At first I was disappointed with the set up until I found and article in Onkyo's FAQ. It directed me to look at other settings on my other components to assure the settings were compatible. After matching the settings I am now happy as can be.
The features for this price point are great.
It has 5.1 with all of the latest formats. With minor tweaking I was able to match the requirements of my Bose surround speaker system.
I have a dock set up for my iPod. And with the ARC I can view the iPod menus right on my television, and contol its functions with the receiver's remote.
Many other nice features to write about but I'm late for bed. Ciao.
